1. About Pitch Shift
Pitch Shift is a macOS menu bar app provided by SootheTrail Solutions LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). It adjusts the pitch of system audio in real time on a compatible Mac. These terms describe use of the app and its optional Pro features.
Use the app only where you can lawfully agree to its terms, or with permission from a parent or guardian where required. You do not need a developer-operated account.
2. Your app license
The Mac App Store version is licensed under Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement and applicable Apple Media Services terms. These service terms supplement, rather than replace, that license. If a provision conflicts with Apple’s standard license or mandatory consumer law, the applicable license or law controls.
The app is licensed, not sold, and its software and branding remain protected by intellectual property laws. Third-party open-source components remain governed by their respective licenses; notices are included in the app bundle.
3. Free features and Pro access
The free app includes the 432 Hz and 440 Hz presets and system audio processing. The current Pro offering unlocks the additional built-in frequency presets and custom semitone and fine-tuning controls described in the app.
Lifetime Pro is a non-consumable, one-time in-app purchase. It does not automatically renew and has no recurring subscription charge. Pro access does not expire on a subscription schedule. Device, operating-system and App Store availability requirements still apply; the purchase does not promise support for every future device or operating-system version.
Any future paid product would require a separate, explicit purchase through Apple. An existing lifetime purchase will not automatically become a subscription.
4. Billing, restoration and refunds
Apple processes purchases using your App Store account. Review the product and amount in Apple’s purchase confirmation before approving payment. Prices, currencies, taxes and availability can vary by storefront.
Use “Restore Purchases” in the Upgrade page with the App Store account that made the purchase to restore eligible Pro access. The app verifies access using StoreKit. A revoked or refunded purchase may no longer unlock Pro.
Refund requests are handled through Apple’s purchase-support process, subject to Apple’s policies and applicable consumer rights. These terms do not exclude rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be waived.
5. Audio permissions and compatibility
Core functionality requires permission to access system audio. You can stop tuning, quit the app or revoke its system audio recording permission in System Settings. Without that permission, Pitch Shift cannot process system audio.
The app requires macOS 14.2 or later and a compatible audio output. Behavior, latency and audio quality can vary with hardware, Bluetooth profiles, sample rates, other apps and operating-system restrictions. Some protected audio sources may not permit capture. Pitch Shift does not guarantee compatibility with every audio source or device.
Use a comfortable listening volume and check audio output before relying on the app in a live or time-critical setting. Preset frequencies are tuning references, not promises of health or medical benefits. Pitch Shift is not a medical device or treatment.
6. Responsible use and privacy
Use Pitch Shift only with audio you are authorized to access and in compliance with applicable law and the source service’s terms. The app does not grant rights to copyrighted content or authorize circumventing access controls or digital rights management.
Audio is processed locally, not recorded or uploaded by the app. Our Privacy Policy explains local settings, review-reminder records, Apple purchases and optional support correspondence.
7. Updates and limitations
We may provide updates to improve security, compatibility and functionality. Keep a supported version installed. Features can depend on Apple services or operating-system capabilities outside our control.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the app is provided subject to the warranty and liability provisions of Apple’s standard license. Nothing here limits statutory warranties, consumer protections or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.
We may update these terms to reflect product or legal changes and will update the date above. Where required, additional notice or agreement will be provided. Changes do not retroactively turn a completed one-time purchase into recurring billing.
